What the app is
StarChaser Run is an iOS app that tracks upcoming deadlines and race days for the Abbott World Marathon Majors, plus any custom marathons you choose to add yourself. It is fully offline-first.
Data we collect
None. The app has no sign-in, no account system, no analytics library, and no third-party tracking SDKs. We never ask for your name, email, location, or any other personal information.
Data stored on your device
The following is stored locally in your device's sandboxed storage (UserDefaults, shared with the StarChaser widget via an App Group). None of it leaves your phone:
- Which marathons you have marked completed
- Any custom marathons you have added, along with their dates, notes, and optional GPX route data
- A cached copy of the Abbott marathon milestone timeline
- Standard iOS caches and preferences
Uninstalling the app removes all of it.
Network requests
The app makes one type of outbound request: a standard HTTPS GET to fetch an updated marathon milestone JSON file from this hosting server. The request contains no user identifiers, no cookies, no authentication, and no app-generated tracking parameters — it is an anonymous static file download.
Our hosting provider (Google Firebase Hosting) may log the IP address of the request as part of standard web hosting operations. We do not access, export, or process those logs. If you wish to avoid even this incidental logging, you can leave the app unused — the embedded fallback data will still show you every built-in marathon milestone.
Third parties
None. The app has no third-party SDKs embedded. The only external service involved is the static file host for the milestone JSON, which does not receive any user-identifying data.
Children
StarChaser Run is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from users of any age.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published here with a new effective date. Because the app collects no data, substantive changes are unlikely unless our data-handling posture itself changes.
