Data accuracy

StarChaser curates marathon dates — registration windows, lottery deadlines, charity entries, and race days — from each marathon's official sources. We make every effort to keep them accurate, but marathon organisers can change dates without notice and occasional errors can slip through.

Always confirm critical deadlines with the official marathon website before acting. The registration link for each marathon is available on that marathon's detail page inside the app, or on the marathon's own site directly. If you notice a date in the app that looks wrong, email me and I'll correct it within a day.

Why do some marathons show different dates than the official site?
The app ships with a curated dataset of known Abbott World Marathon Majors dates. When the app is online, it fetches the latest dataset on open and via pull-to-refresh. If you spot a date that looks wrong, email me and I'll update the data within a day.

How do I get reminders before deadlines?
Open Settings (gear icon) and toggle on "Notify me before deadlines". You'll be prompted for notification permission once, then you get a heads up 2 weeks, 1 week, 3 days, and 1 day before every upcoming deadline, plus a morning-of reminder on the day it closes.

Can I add races that aren't in the Abbott Majors?
Yes. On the Marathons tab, tap Add to set up a custom race with its own date, colour, and optional GPX course. Custom races get the same countdown and reminders as the Majors but you manage the data yourself.

Does the app collect any of my data?
No. StarChaser Run has no sign-in, no analytics, and no third-party tracking SDKs. The app's full privacy policy is here.
